Ten books I’m…

looking forward to reading in 2014!

Book Collage 2014

Trouble by Non Pratt – Hannah’s a fifteen year old girl who is pregnant. Aaron the new boy at school who doesn’t want to attract attention, but he offers to pretend that he’s the father. Why does he offer? We’ll just have to wait and find out. [goodreads]

The Winner’s Curse by Marie Rutkoski – A general’s daughter, forbidden love, lies, and secrets. This story sounds like it’s going to be action packed and I can’t wait to see this story unfold. [goodreads]

The Half Life of Molly Pierce by Katrina Leno – Molly feels like she’s missed bits and pieces of her life. Now she’s remembering her secrets and uncovers the separate life she seems to have led. I love suspenseful and psychological mysteries, so I’m excited for this one. [goodreads]

Love Letters to the Dead by Ava Dellaira – Laurel begins writing letters to the dead for a class assignment, but it ends up becoming more than just school work. Through these letters she begins to accept what happened to her sister May and herself; letting her discover her own path. This one sounds like a heart warming story that will probably make me cry. [goodreads]

Cruel Beauty by Rosamund Hodge – This one is based on the classic fairy tail Beauty and the Beast. What more can I say? That in itself hooked me. The twist is that Nyx the MC is not sweet, she’s cruel. [goodreads]

Gilded by Christina L. Farley – Jae is moved to Korea where she finds out that a Korean demi-god has been stealing the soul of the oldest daughter of each generation in her family for centuries. Unfortunately, she’s next. I love that it’s set in Korea, there’s fantasy, a love interest, and the MC seems like she can kick some butt. I hope it’s as action packed as it sounds! [goodreads]

Since You’ve Been Gone by Morgan Matson – If your best friend completely disappeared and all you found was a random to-do list, would you fulfill the items on the list in hopes of it leading you to her? That’s what happens to Emily, and so she sets out to do thirteen tasks she would never try in normal circumstances. I’m really pumped to read this one. It sounds like the perfect summer read. [goodreads]

Faking Normal by Courtney C. Stevens – I used to devour realistic fiction, so this had to be on my top list. Something has happened to Alexi over the summer and she doesn’t tell anyone about it. Bodee the boy next door comes to live with her family, carrying secrets of his own. They end up forming a relationship that helps them to both deal with the things that have happened to them. [goodreads]

Strange Sweet Song by Adi Rule – I love to sing, so this lovely gem caught my eye. A young soprano enrolls in a remote music academy where nothing is as it seems. There is a dark forest surrounding Dunhammond where they say a great beast called the Felix lives. Sing doesn’t believe in these rumors and ignores them. But maybe they aren’t rumors after all and her vocal coach Nathan has secrets that are entwined with the myths surrounding Dunhammond and the great creature they say lives there. [goodreads]

Side Effects May Vary by Julie Murphy – A bucket list that’s more about revenge then hope by a dying girl who finishes settling scores just as she finds out she’s gone into remission. It wasn’t what Alice had planned on, but is it too late to start over and to mend the relationships she’s damaged? We’ll find out in March! [goodreads]

There you have it, ten books I’m really looking forward to reading in 2014. Are any of these on your tbr list? If so, which ones? Are there any books that aren’t on my list you think I should add?
